Strategic Deployment of Pest Surveillance Squads
The Punjab government allocated 470 million PKR to establish these squads under the specialized Pest Warning programme. Consequently, the administration has deployed 65 vehicles equipped with modern diagnostic kits at the tehsil level. Initially, operations will focus on key agricultural hubs including Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Faisalabad, and Sahiwal. These units provide a catalyst for rapid response, allowing officials to identify and neutralize crop diseases before they reach critical thresholds.

Infrastructure and Human Capital
Successful execution of this program relies on both technical hardware and precision-trained personnel. To support this vision, the department recruited 105 Plant Protection Assistants to manage field diagnostics. Furthermore, Secretary Agriculture Iftikhar Ali Sahoo confirmed that leadership will monitor squad performance on a daily basis.
