Introducing the New Lahore Traffic Uniform
The Punjab government recently approved a new Lahore Traffic Uniform, sources confirm. This updated attire will enhance professionalism for wardens in Lahore. Consequently, traffic personnel in other districts will maintain their current uniforms.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz officially endorsed the shift during a recent meeting with senior officials. She approved a stylish navy blue design, replacing the existing light blue uniforms. This modern ensemble for wardens on city roads features navy blue trousers, a crisp white shirt, a matching belt, a blue tie, a comfortable jersey, a smart navy coat, and a coordinating cap.
A Professional Identity for Lahore’s Streets

Furthermore, Lahore’s office staff will adopt a more formal dress code. Administrative and supervisory personnel will now wear coats or blazers. Officials assert this change aims to cultivate a professional and distinct identity for traffic personnel, ideally suited for Lahore’s demanding urban environment.
Phased Rollout and Cost Efficiency
The new uniforms will roll out in carefully planned phases. This implementation will occur once procurement and distribution logistics are fully finalized. Previously, three distinct design prototypes were presented to the chief minister, catering to field staff, office personnel, and women officers.
Notably, a previous plan to introduce fawn-colored uniforms was cancelled last October. This decision, driven by high costs, saved approximately Rs. 60 million. A senior official highlighted that the revised uniform specifically aims to improve visibility, enhance authority, and bolster professionalism across Lahore’s bustling streets.
