PDWP Approves Rs. 11 Billion Development Schemes for Punjab

The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) recently greenlit four significant development schemes. These projects, collectively valued at over Rs. 11 billion, aim to uplift various sectors across Punjab. Key Projects Driving Punjab’s Progress

The 59th PDWP meeting, efficiently chaired by Planning and Development Board Chairman Dr. Naeem Rauf, saw the approval of several impactful initiatives. Notably, a significant Rs. 2.5 billion project will revitalize the older blocks of the Punjab Institute of Mental Health in Lahore. This initiative seeks to improve patient care and upgrade essential facilities.

In addition, the PDWP sanctioned the procurement of a linear accelerator for Allied Hospital Faisalabad. This crucial medical equipment, costing an estimated Rs. 677 million, will significantly enhance cancer treatment capabilities in the region. Consequently, healthcare services will improve for countless patients needing advanced care.

Boosting Infrastructure and Water Management

Another vital scheme approved by the PDWP involves the expansion and extension of distributaries and minors. This project, valued at Rs. 1.52 billion, will effectively feed the Defence Ditches, thereby enhancing water management and crucial agricultural support across various areas. Such improvements are vital for regional development.

Furthermore, a substantial Rs. 6 billion project received approval, focusing on improving canal conveyance and operational efficiency.
