
Pakistan celebrates a remarkable achievement as its young squash star, Mahnoor Ali, clinched the gold medal in the U15 category at the prestigious WSF Czech Junior Open 2026. This thrilling victory saw Mahnoor defeat Czech contender Johana Jedličková in a gripping 3–2 final match.
Pakistan Young Squash Star: Mahnoor Ali’s Dominant Performance
This recent triumph marks Mahnoor’s 26th career gold medal, significantly solidifying her reputation as one of Pakistan’s most successful junior squash players. Earlier in the tournament, Mahnoor demonstrated her formidable skill by securing her place in the final. She achieved a dominant 3–0 semifinal win against Tarasova, with game scores of 11–5, 11–6, and 11–7, showcasing her consistent excellence on the court.
Ali Sisters Shine Bright
Furthermore, the Ali family’s squash prowess extends beyond Mahnoor. Her sister, Sehrish Ali, also delivered an impressive performance throughout the tournament. Consequently, Sehrish earned the bronze medal in the same U15 category after defeating Victoria Syvoplyas with a convincing 3–0 victory. The sisters’ combined success highlights their dedication and talent in the sport.
Mehwish Ali’s Courageous Recovery
In contrast, the third Ali sister, Mehwish Ali, faced a serious health scare during the Girls U17 semifinal. Thankfully, she is now out of danger and recovering well. Mehwish was leading 2–1 in games when a collision with her opponent in the fourth game caused her to fall in pain, immediately halting the match. She was promptly rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for crucial medical monitoring.
According to the latest reports, Mehwish has since regained consciousness and her condition is stable. It was later revealed that her heart experienced stress due to a temporary lack of oxygen supply, which resulted in her being unconscious for nearly seven hours. Her recovery is a testament to her strength and the quick medical response.
