The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has strategically initiated the Ramzan Cricket Hunt Cup 2026, a calibrated program designed to identify and integrate emerging male and female cricketing talent into national pathways. This critical undertaking reflects Pakistan’s commitment to fortifying its sports infrastructure, offering a transparent platform for athletes to join the prestigious CDA Cricket Team for the upcoming Patron’s Trophy Grade-II 2026.
Strategic Imperative: Unpacking the Ramzan Cricket Hunt Initiative
This initiative, driven by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CDA and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) signed on December 4, 2025, establishes a precise baseline for structured talent acquisition. Consequently, it systematically upgrades Islamabad’s cricket grounds and promotes youth cricket across genders. The agreement, signed by Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa and PCB Chief Operating Officer Sameer Ahmed, ensures coaching and training meet international standards, providing a transparent and equitable selection process.

Socio-Economic Catalyst: Empowering Pakistan’s Youth Through Sport
The Ramzan Cricket Hunt profoundly impacts Pakistani citizens, particularly students and aspiring professionals. This program offers a tangible pathway to national recognition and potential careers in professional cricket, thereby transcending socio-economic barriers. For households in both urban and rural Pakistan, such initiatives represent hope and investment in their children’s futures, fostering discipline and national pride through structured athletic development. Furthermore, it elevates the perception of sports as a viable professional trajectory.
The Forward Path: Calibrating Future Momentum
This development undeniably represents a Momentum Shift. The explicit focus on transparent player selection, gender inclusion, and infrastructure upgrades signifies a progressive re-calibration of Pakistan’s sports development strategy. It moves beyond mere participation, laying a structural foundation for sustainable excellence and a robust national talent pipeline.

Precision Pathways: Men’s Cricket Trials
The open trials for men’s teams are scheduled for February 11-12, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the CDA National Cricket Ground, F-7 Markaz, Islamabad. A total of ten men’s teams will participate, with eight top clubs from the recent PCB tournament and two teams selected directly from these trials.
Eligibility criteria for men’s trials demand specific prior experience:
- Participation in First-Class Cricket, Grade-II Cricket, District/CCA Cricket, or Division Cricket within the last three years.
- Experience with Pakistan U-19, Pakistan Shaheens/Pakistan ‘A’, or National U-19 cricket.
Participants must bring their original Form-B or Smart National Identity Card and two recent passport-sized color photographs. CDA officials strictly require players to wear white uniforms; Form-B is also preferred over CNIC for verification.
Inclusive Growth: Women’s Cricket Opportunities
The Ramzan Cricket Hunt extends its inclusive reach to women cricketers, with trials set for February 13, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the same Islamabad venue. This dedicated platform provides selected female players a direct opportunity to join the CDA Women Cricket Team, marking a significant step towards equitable sports development.
Similar to the men’s trials, prospective women cricketers must present their Form-B or Smart National Identity Card along with two recent passport-sized photographs, with Form-B being the preferred document.
