BYD EVs Pakistan are set for a major expansion! The global electric vehicle giant is preparing to introduce two brand-new electric models to the Pakistani market this month. Consequently, this move signifies BYD’s commitment to electrifying transportation in the region. Consumers can anticipate the arrival of both the Atto 2 and the Sealion 7 before January concludes.
Introducing the Compact and Capable: BYD Atto 2
The BYD Atto 2, known as the BYD Yuan Up in China, is a subcompact electric SUV. Positioned strategically, it sits just below the popular Atto 3 in BYD’s diverse lineup. Initially, BYD unveiled the Atto 2 in China in March 2024. Furthermore, it made its Australian debut in November 2025. Other international markets often refer to this versatile model as the Yuan Pro or S1 Pro. Importantly, the vehicle leverages BYD’s advanced e-Platform 3.0 electric architecture, ensuring efficiency and performance.
Performance and Battery Life of the Atto 2
This innovative SUV boasts Blade Battery technology, offering various battery sizes to suit different needs. Specifically, a 32 kWh pack provides an estimated 301 km CLTC range. Alternatively, a larger 45.1 kWh pack extends the range to an estimated 401 km CLTC. The standard version of the Atto 2 delivers a respectable 94 horsepower. However, higher trim levels boost this to a powerful 174 horsepower. Moreover, the more robust variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km per hour in approximately 7.9 seconds. The Atto 2 also supports DC fast charging, allowing a charge from 30% to 80% in only about 28 minutes, highlighting its practical appeal for urban commuters.
The Midsize Marvel: BYD Sealion 7 in Pakistan
The second eagerly awaited model is the BYD Sealion 7. This midsize electric SUV is a significant addition, positioned above the Atto 3 within BYD’s portfolio. Globally, the Sealion 7 directly competes with established midsize electric crossovers such as the Tesla Model Y. BYD commenced production of the Sealion 7 in May 2024. Consequently, it launched the model in selected export markets, including Hong Kong and Europe, by October 2024. This demonstrates its global readiness.
Advanced Platform and Charging for Sealion 7
In China, the Sealion 7 utilizes BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 Evo, featuring an advanced 800-volt electrical system. Conversely, versions for export markets typically incorporate the standard e-Platform 3.0 with a 400-volt setup. Like its sibling, the Sealion 7 employs Blade Battery technology. Battery capacities vary from 71.8 kWh to 82.5 kWh or 91.3 kWh, depending on the specific market. Rear-wheel drive versions produce either 228 horsepower or 308 horsepower. Furthermore, the powerful dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant delivers an impressive 523 horsepower. This performance version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in as little as 4.5 seconds, offering exhilarating drives. The Sealion 7 also supports rapid DC fast charging, up to 230 kW. This enables a charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 24 minutes, making long journeys more convenient. At this time, BYD has not yet released pricing or specific variant details for the Pakistani market. Nevertheless, the confirmation of both the Atto 2 and the Sealion 7 arriving by the end of January excites many potential buyers.
Why BYD EVs Matter for Pakistan’s Future
The introduction of these new BYD EVs Pakistan marks a significant milestone for the country’s automotive sector. This expansion provides Pakistani consumers with more choices in sustainable transportation. Additionally, it accelerates the adoption of electric vehicles nationwide. As a result, this development aligns with global trends towards greener mobility and reduces carbon footprints. The advanced features, impressive ranges, and efficient charging capabilities of the Atto 2 and Sealion 7 position them as strong contenders in the growing EV market.
