Balochistan has launched a significant initiative, aiming to combat the severe shortage of subject specialists in its government schools. The provincial administration plans to recruit 4,000 school teachers on an ad hoc basis. Addressing Critical Gaps in Core Subjects
Education Secretary Asfandyar Khan Kakar emphasized that this recruitment drive directly addresses an urgent need. Specifically, new teachers will fill positions in core subjects like English, Mathematics, and Science. Many schools throughout Balochistan currently struggle with inadequate staffing in these essential disciplines, consequently impacting educational delivery.
Furthermore, Kakar noted that government schools face a staggering 70–80% deficit of qualified educators for these key subjects. To confront this challenge proactively, the provincial government prepared a summary, requesting approval for hiring these 4,000 educators.
